ST. PETE PRIDE PARADE MINT HOUSE CORDOVA INN Sober alternatives are plentiful, too! I’m a regular at Steep Station and Grassroots Kava House in St. Pete and Low Tide Kava Bar in Gulfport. week of events for queer women, including comedy shows, concerts, parties, wellness activities and so much more. On any regular night, you can find me at My Bar Sports Bar and Grill, a newer, lesbian-owned spot near Gulfport; The Garage on Central, a favorite local gay bar; or Lucky Star Lounge, the oldest gay bar in town. If my dogs are in tow, we’re chasing balls and lapping up liquor at Mutts & Martinis or The Dog Bar. When I’m thirsty for adventure beyond Central Avenue, Thyrst in Largo or Blur Nightclub in Dunedin are two of my favorites. Of course, this city isn’t just about nightlife. Black Crow Coffee Co. is my go-to for coffee and community, Tombolo Books has one of the best queer book selections in the state and ZaZoo’d is a must-visit for those of us who like our home décor to have a little personality. Everywhere I turn, creativity pulses through this city, and queer artists are at the heart of it. In the Warehouse Arts District, spaces like Five Deuces Galleria and the ArtsXchange showcase the work of several local LGBTQ+ artists, and a short drive away, the Studios at 5663 in Pinellas Park bring together a diverse collective of creators, offering exhibitions, workshops and community events that amplify queer voices. For accommodations along Central Avenue, the Mari Jean Hotel caters to gay men, while Mint House and the Moxy offer a welcoming stay for all. Downtown, LGBTQ+ visitors enjoy the Hollander Hotel, the Avalon and the Cordova Inn . Just northwest of downtown, the Gay St. Pete House provides an all-male, clothing-optional retreat for those looking for a relaxed and social stay. And for those craving beach vibes, the Coconut Inn in Pass-a-Grille is a perfect fit. St. Pete-Clearwater is where the LGBTQ+ commu-nity is celebrated openly, all year long. From major events like Pride to everyday moments at my favorite local spots, I am blessed to live in a destination that I would choose to visit. VISITSPC .COM 93
