My favorite event of the year is St. Pete Pride . A month-long celebration in June POINTS OF I’ve been to a lot of places that claim to be LGBTQ+-friendly, but St. Pete-Clearwater isn’t just welcoming — it’s home. I never have to search for community here. LGBTQ+ businesses thrive here, the queer community lives here and gay nightlife is unapologetically bold. with events every weekend, the parade itself takes the rainbow cake as the largest Pride parade in the Southeast and one of the largest in the U.S. But what I love most? In St. Pete-Clearwater, Pride doesn’t end with June. Winter Pride falls in February, offering a cooler alternative. Held in the Grand Central District — the heart of St. Pete’s LGBTQ+ scene — enjoy a week of events, from street parties to performances and a “dive-in movie” at The Wet Spot pool bar. The party wraps up with a drag car race along Central Avenue. Sapphic St. Pete kicks off in November, with a full 92 AMERICA’S FAVORITE BEACHES
