CHICAGO O’HARE AND MIDWAY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS SECURITY CHECKPOINT EXPANSION A new 80,000-square-foot security structure and expanded pedestrian bridge was completed in 2020. The security pavilion provides new technology and a streamlined single checkpoint area that is seven times wider than the previous security hall. This development, combined with new TSA automated lanes, increases the hourly throughput of passengers from 2,500 to 5,000 per hour — doubling previous capacity while maintaining the highest levels of security. KIDS PLAY AREA The Kids Play Area near Gate A5 provides a delightful space for kids to play. The carpeted space offers cushy seating for parents, with the convenience of two "Nuts on Clark" popcorn machines nearby. There is also an FAO Schwarz toy store, located across from the Play Area, as well as the Concourse A Food Hall, which is just a few steps away.
