Capital Bikeshare is popular for commuting, and it’s easy with 700 stations and more than 5,000 bikes in the DC area. More than 1,400 buses operated by Metro run on alternative fuel that is less harmful to the environment. Metro aims for a 100% zero-emissions bus fl eet by 2045. The American Geophysical Union (AGU) hosted 28,000 attendees for its 2018 fall meeting in DC without a shuttle and returns to the city in 2024. DC is prepared to welcome attendees and help make sustainable options easy.
