The board of trustees includes descendants of the enslaved Black Americans who worked the plantation, which uses its 20 historical structures and educational programs as a “testament to all who lived, died, labored and resisted here.” At the Old Jail Museum in Leonardtown , an Underground Railroad Network to Freedom site, discover the stories of freedom seekers who were held captive.
