Displays artifacts and momentos of South Dakota baseball from the early 1900’s to today. Historic photographs and pictures of Hall of Famers are featured. A must see for casual or avid sports fans or for anyone interested in history. The home of Arthur C. Mellette, Dakota Territory’s last governor and the first governor of South Dakota. The home Arthur and Maggie Mellette built in the mid 1880’s is now beautifully restored with much of their own furniture and many personal effects. Once inside the door, the visitor has stepped into early Dakota. During the 1880’s and 1890’s many elegant receptions and social gatherings graced this Italianate style home.
