A HIKER’S AND BIKER’S PARADISE The C&O Canal towpath is a recreational treasure that attracts hikers and bikers from across the country. Opt to take on the entire 184.5-mile trail—and stay the night at uniquely designed lockhouses along the way—or plan a day trip to exciting landmarks like the Paw Paw Tunnel or the gorgeous Great Falls of the Potomac. Maryland is also home to a num-ber of state parks with trails galore.
