Thank you The travel and tourism industry in Pennsylvania is made up of over half a million of our residents. They are our friends, our family, our neighbors. They work as chefs, wait sta and bartenders in our restaurants. They run our bed and breakfasts, hotels and campgrounds, and work in our amusement parks, theaters, and retail shops. They are museum docents, ticket takers, tour guides, outfi tters, and so much more. They are the engine that keeps the industry and our communities humming. The travel and tourism industry and our people are also the engine that keeps our state and local economies humming. It is an industry that has historically been one the hardest hit when it comes to times of national and international crises, but it is also incredibly resilient. Certainly, Pennsylvania’s industry has not been spared from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The reality is that with fewer people traveling and visiting Pennsylvania the pandemic has had a devastating impact on our state, in our communities, among our small businesses, and, ultimately, on the men and women who work in travel and tourism. But we are confi dent we will survive and emerge stronger as an industry. We hope 2021 brings health and happiness, and the opportunity to pursue your happiness through all the amazing experiences Pennsylvania has to o er.
