Castle Hot Springs, Morristown 3 WAYS TO ENJOY NATURAL HOT SPRINGS 1 Laze in Luxury: Once host to vacationing Rockefellers and Vanderbilts, Castle Hot Springs in Morristown has transformed from a diamond in the rough to an opulent oasis. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and complet-ed in 1896, a fire in 1976 shut the resort down for decades. Its new restoration includes a hot springs-fed swimming pool, as well as 32 rooms complete with private patios with hot spring tubs and indoor/outdoor fireplaces. 2 Easy Ahh-ccess: To reach Verde Hot Springs in Camp Verde, follow a diffi-cult dirt road (a 4x4 vehicle is recommended) to an easy hike. Cairns along—and across—the Verde River lead the way to hot springs in the remnants of a hotel that burned down in 1962. Pools dot the cliffside above the river, including a tub that’s surrounded by visitor-created artwork-filled walls. 3 Off the Beaten Bath: From the Willow Beach trailhead, ascend more than 1,000 feet and climb a 20-foot ladder to reach Arizona (Ringbolt) Hot Springs . While the hike is challeng-ing, it’s rewarding. Three pools are nestled between White Rock Canyon’s walls, each getting progressively warmer from lower to middle to upper. Soak in the experience.
