The unique size allows larger capacity options for a reception of 5,000 or a seated dinner of 1,000. The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium offers two room settings: Larkin Hall and the Arena and Polk Halls. These large customizable spaces combine with additional upper floors to provide a total of more than 60,000 square feet of event space. Polk and Larkin Halls are located on each side of the arena. They are the exact same dimensions, each with more than 7,000 square feet of space and the capacity to host 200 to 800 guests depending on the event set-up. The Arena has more than 30,000 square feet with capacity of 4,000 to 6,000 standing, not including the seated balcony upstairs. We have backstage accommodations for talent and many other smaller room options on the second, third and fourth floors. Built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium has been the cultural center of San Francisco for more than a century. It is also one of the historical Beaux-Arts buildings residing in San Francisco’s Civic Plaza. The historical events that have taken and continue to take place at the Bill Graham Civic include the 1920 Democratic National Convention, Golden State Warriors home games (it was the home of the Warriors from 1964-1966) and a President Barack Obama event in 2012.
