News new hotels Eaton Workshop | Opened 2018 A former hotel at 12th and K streets NW was transformed into a 209-room lifestyle property called Eaton Workshop in September 2018. In addition to a bar and restaurant from Alexandra Bookless and Tim Ma, respectively, the flagship property sports amenities designed to charm millennial travelers: a radio/podcasting studio, a 50-person movie theater, a co-working space for 370 members and a wellness center offering alternative treatments. The Moxy | Opened Fall 2018 The first of its kind in DC, Moxy Hotels is a new brand from Marriott International Inc. Located at the corner of 11th and K streets NW, this budget-minded, millennial-forward, 200-room property features intimate rooms, shared public spaces and a rooftop lounge. Residence Inn & Courtyard by Marriott | Opened Fall 2018 The dual-branded hotel opened adjacent to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in fall of 2018. The Residence Inn features 147 rooms while Courtyard by Marriott features 357 rooms. Guests can enjoy a gorgeous view of downtown DC while relaxing around the fire pit on the rooftop terrace. hotels coming soon Conrad Washington, DC Opening February 2019 In the first quarter of 2019, Phase 2 of CityCenterDC, a high-end residential and retail destination, welcomes the $250 million, 360-room Conrad Hotel. In addition to retail, the property is expected to house a restaurant from Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, a rooftop bar and 32,000 square feet of meeting space, including two pillar-free, above-ground ballrooms. Hilton Washington DC National Mall | Opening Spring 2019 The renovated property will open at L’Enfant Plaza with 367 rooms. It is equidistant to the National Mall and The Wharf and faces the home of the new International Spy Museum . The 23,000 square feet of meeting space includes a grand ballroom that accommodates 600 guests and a unique solarium for up to 300 people. SLS Hotel | Opening 2020 DC’s first SLS-branded property, SLS Hotel is expected to open in the first half of 2020 in Mount Vernon Triangle. The design-focused 12-story building will house 198 rooms, 59 SLS-branded condominiums, a mezzanine and a 5,500-square-foot ballroom. Citizen M | Opening 2020 Billing itself as “affordable luxury,” Citizen M, a Dutch hospitality brand, is expected to open a 252-room hotel near The Wharf in 2020. The hotel will feature an open workspace, a fitness and yoga studio and a rooftop lounge. Mob Hotel | Opening 2020 In development near the buzzing neighborhood dubbed NoMa, Mob Hotel, a stylish Paris-based chain, is expected to open its first of five planned North American hotels in DC. The brand embraces neighborhood culture and will host art talks and concerts in its lobbies. metro on the move John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The REACH The 23-mile Silver Line Metrorail extension is the largest expansion of the system in over 20 years.
