THEME PARKS ©SeaWorld On Mako®, we floated over track hills and glided through the park at over 70 mph! No surprise, Jake and Mia wanted to ride the coaster again. Aft erwards, we stopped for lunch at Sharks Underwater Grill ® where we ate surrounded by the deep sea waters and a panoramic view of the Shark Encounter. It felt as if the sharks were dining with us! Following lunch, we took in the One Ocean ® show, which ended up being Shelby’s favorite. She’s always been fascinated by living creatures and was totally taken in by the tale of a planet, magnificent whales, and gorgeous video images. As the sun went down, we spotted illuminated jellyfish hanging from the trees and the park began to glow—SeaWorld® Orlando’s new Electric Ocean ™ spectacular had begun. We followed the music to Club Sea Glow where the DJ played techno music, bright neon colors popped against the sky, sea-creatures danced through the crowds, and the dance floor filled with families. It was as if we had entered a super-charged bioluminescent underwater world. Staying up past the little ones’ bedtime to watch the new Ignite ™ fireworks, laser, and water show was the highlight of the night! The kids danced and laughed all the way back to the car. Everything we saw and experienced off ered a mix of fun, education, and inspiration. We were able to explore many of the Earth’s hidden dimensions in a single weekend through spectacular shows, up-close animal encounters, and rides. Principles of conservation are woven throughout SeaWorld® Orlando and my weekend warriors embraced them all. We not only were left with fabulous memories but also a passion to take care of our planet. DISCOVERING DOLPHINS AT SeaWorld® Orlando’s sister park, Discovery Cove ®, is less a theme park than an all-inclusive luxury day resort off ering one-of-a-kind animal interactions. Attendance is capped at 1,300 people per day, so the park feels intimate and uncrowded. Its 30-minute Dolphin Swim Experience (for ages six plus) is the iconic, signature experience and for most, it’s also the highlight of the day.
