National Road Museum, Boonsboro Bundle Up for Winter Fest The weather outside could be frightful, but you won’t mind at all when Downtown Opening in 2018, the National Road Museum in Boonsboro will honor the nation’s first federal highway system that was designed to expand America into the untamed western frontier and pave the way for thousands of industrial immigrants in search of a better life. The museum will stand next to the Trolley Station Museum. The trolley ran from Frederick to Middletown, Myersville, Hagerstown, Thurmont, Williamsport and Boonsboro in Maryland and to Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.
