FAMILY FUN Fun for the Whole Family In addition to all the different outdoor activities that kids can do in and around Grand Junction, there are other fun and unique experiences waiting. Kids love the Dinosaur Journey Museum located in Fruita, where they can interact with model dinosaurs of the area plus educational displays. Through the museum they can also get a hands-on experience excavating fossils. We are also part of “Dinosaur Diamond,” a geographical area rich with paleontological history, so you never know what you may dig up on a dinosaur dig with a paleontologist! You can also take the family on expeditions with the Museums of Western Colorado, visit the living historical farm Cross Orchards Historical Site right in the middle of Grand Junction, or learn about local flora at the Botanical Gardens. Downtown Grand Junction features over a hundred art installations that kids can touch and explore, plus the Avalon Theatre features live music, movies and stage shows they’ll love. Just for fun, include a visit to the local ice arena for year-round ice skating, or go play a round of putt putt, laser tag or strap on roller skates to round out your visit.
