THEME PARKS ©LEGOLAND Florida, Dragon roller coaster Insider Trading : : Minifigure Market Minifigures are where it’s at for my son, so he was super excited at the thought of trading them throughout LEGOLAND with Model Citizens (park employees) all day. He wasted no time getting started, whipping out a storm trooper and holding it up for the Model Citizen standing outside of DUPLO Valley to check out. The trooper was missing his helmet, but the exchange proceeded. Jude got a construction worker— “ Mom, I got Emmet! ” —in return. The trade game runs throughout the park and works like this: Any park employee with a tricked-out LEGO badge is holding minifigures and is o icially prepared to swap. Some have their o erings clipped to the badge, so kids can see right away whether this is a trade they want to make. Jude swapped five times, and by the end, he was a minifigure-trading master. He scanned all the lapels of the Model Citizens within a 10-foot radius, making a quick assessment as to whether they had what he wanted and then went right up, pointed to his choice and dashed back in a flash, the minifig already safe in his pocket. The pièce de résistance? We saluted his trading prowess with a trip to Minifigure Market, where he built his own guy from open bins of heads, bodies and all kinds of accessories.
