THEME PARKS We then trekked over to Adventureland for the Jungle Cruise, and to Frontierland for Splash Mountain® and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad®. The girls got soaked on Splash Mountain®, but that didn’t stop them from wanting to immediately ride it again. However, a er all those doses of adrenaline, it was time to relax and take in the 8:45 p.m. Celebrate the Magic show. It was absolutely spectacular, but what made it even better was the look of unbridled joy on Gia’s face as Tinker Bell sprinkled her pixie dust, brilliant colors and Disney characters washed over the castle surface and fireworks lit up the sky. At this point, the park was about to close but I hadn’t satisfied Gia’s obsession with Princess Elena yet. So, we joined the short line at Fantasyland’s Princess Fairytale Hall and entered the chamber where both Elena and Cinderella stood in all their glory. Splash Mountain chance to take pictures with and hug Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore, the restaurant quickly became a favorite. Gabriella’s appetite for thrills had been whetted by the mine train we’d ridden earlier, and she begged to go on Space Mountain® next. So we headed to Tomorrowland, and while Nate and Gabriella rode Space Mountain®, Gia and I toured the land on the much tamer PeopleMover. Gia—normally the opposite of shy—was so star-struck she ran behind my back. But Gabriella’s reaction was even more surprising. While waiting she’d said she’d rather go on Space Mountain®, the park’s most grown-up ride, for a second time. But now, face-to-face with Cinderella, she was as enthralled as she was a few years ago, when she thought that princesses were the best thing ever. We caught the Wishes show on our way out—the medley of Disney songs and blazing blasts overhead were a perfect finale to a day during which many wishes had been granted.
