Parking, however, is at a premium, particularly in the French Quarter. Taxis and public transportation can take you to points not within walking distance. TAXIS Rates are $3.50 plus $2 per mile (or 30¢ per 1/8 mile) thereafter. During peak visitor times or special events, taxi rates may increase but will be posted. A fixed rate of $36 (two people) is charged from the airport to most areas of New Orleans; for parties of more than two, the fare is $15 per person. RATES SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
