With fi ve sets of tees and some short par-4’s in the 300 to 350 yard range from the men’s white tees, the course gives casual golfers the chance of a birdie on several holes. PAR: 72, YARDS: 6,894 Hilaman Golf Course Tallahassee An affordably priced course owned by the City of Tallahassee since 1981, Hilaman is popular with a wide variety of golfers. It has an excellent junior golf program and offers individual lessons with video swing analysis. The course itself challenges players with long fairways, tactically placed water hazards and numerous sand traps. PAR: 72, YARDS: 6,333 Golf Club at Summerbrooke Tallahassee This tree-laden gem built in 1993 was designed by Dean Refram, an architect who worked extensively with Arnold Palmer before embarking on his own career in course design. With ravines, mature tree growth and water carries, the course has numerous distinctive features that provide challenge and demand concise club selection. There are four sets of tees on each hole to accommodate different skill levels. PAR: 72, YARDS: 6,599 Chiefl and Golf & Country Club Chiefland Open since 1974, this classic parkland-style layout a few miles from the small town of Chiefland is value-priced and fun to play. While the course is not long by today’s standards, golfers enjoy the mature tree growth, wide-open fairways and bunkers that add to the challenge. For players who prefer walking rather than riding, the course is open for walkers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Facilities include a driving range, pro shop, lounge and tennis courts.
