NATIONAL PARKS DROP A HOOK With its abundance of deep blue lakes, spring streams and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park offers plenty of options for anglers looking to snag their next big catch. Head to Colter Bay Village Marina on Jackson Lake for fishing licenses and boat rentals, or schedule a guided fly-fishing tour. WATCH FOR WILDLIFE Sixty species of mammals, more than 300 species of birds and a half-dozen game fish call the park home, so spotting critters in their natural habitats should be easy — as long as you know where to look. Bring a pair of binoculars and search for osprey, bald eagles, elk, coyotes and muskrats. ENJOY WINTER SOLITUDE A ranger-led snowshoeing trek can be a fun way to learn more about the park’s ecology, or you can venture up snowy trails on your own on snowshoes or cross-country skis to experience the peaceful, snow-muffled hush that falls across the Tetons in winter. Approved snowmobiles are allowed on Grassy Lake Road and Jackson Lake, the latter of which offers excellent ice fishing.
