JUCO World Series

Home to the Junior College (JUCO) Baseball World Series since 1958, Grand Junction plays host to this beloved annual tradition during the last week in May. Afternoons and evenings are filled with excitement as some of the nation’s best athletes face off. JUCO is also a stage for players who have earned the right to walk out on Suplizio Field and display their athleticism in front of Major League Baseball scouts, who look to draft the best JUCO players into the big leagues like Bryce Harper, Trevor Rosenthal, and Kirby Puckett. “Living in Grand Junction has given me the opportunity to spend more time outdoors. From hiking and kayaking to improving my skiing, I’ve been able to explore activities I love and try new experiences along the way. I especially enjoy photography, and this area provides the perfect backdrop for capturing the stunning scenery and wildlife that surround me. It’s a place that keeps me grounded in my passions, both academically and personally.” — Shelby Edens, Colorado Mesa University Class of 2027
