THE BAYCARE SOUND AT COACHMAN PARK • Clearwater • This downtown waterfront amphitheater features a striking modern canopy covering 4,000 seats and a lawn that accommodates thousands of additional music fans, all set within a sprawling public park.

NANCY AND DAVID BILHEIMER CAPITOL THEATRE • Clearwater • This beautifully restored, Mediterranean-style theater in downtown Clearwater has been hosting live performances since 1921. Today, it draws an impressive lineup of Grammy-winning artists and touring acts, pairing historic charm with a consistently strong calendar of shows.

JANNUS LIVE • St. Pete • Rock on at this classic, open-air courtyard venue renowned for its intimate feel and big-name acts, with a capacity of 2,000 and a consistently electric atmosphere.

JIMMY B’S BEACH BAR • St. Pete Beach • Set right on the sand at The Beachcomber hotel, this casual beach bar keeps the live music going day and night. With indoor and outdoor bars, a large bandstand and an ongoing rotation of local bands, it’s a go-to for dancing in flip-flops.

MAHAFFEY THEATER • St. Pete • Set on the downtown waterfront, the Duke Energy Center for the Arts hosts Broadway productions, comedy shows, classical performances by The Florida Orchestra and touring artists. Arrive early to enjoy bay views from the outdoor plaza before the show.

RUBY’S ELIXIR • St. Pete • The intimate stage at this swanky, speakeasy-style lounge in downtown St. Pete channels a Prohibition-era vibe while regularly hosting jazz and blues acts.

RUTH ECKERD HALL • Clearwater • One of the area’s premier performance venues, this modern theater hosts an impressive lineup of national touring acts. With crystalclear sound and not a bad seat in the house, it’s a standout spot for live entertainment.

Also known as Shevizzle, Shevonne Philidor is a multitalented artist, singer-songwriter, producer, actress, and model who has appeared on “America’s Got Talent,” “American Idol” and at Austin City Limits as well as the TV show “Life’s Rewards” on Amazon Prime. Her first self-titled album, “Shevizzle,” was released in 2016 and features all original songs. When she wails on her electric guitar, her genre-bending alternative R&B and indie pop music mashups create a powerful performance that leaves audiences mesmerized. As an openly queer artist, Philidor’s showstopping performances at Pride festivals continue to defy conventions.

Jannus Live to see big touring artists; Lost & Found, where I have my residency on the first and third Saturdays; and The Bends always has something cool going on in the indie/underground scene there. When I’m not playing music, my fave hangout is Pinellas Park’s Unlimited Video Games Superstore and Arcade — I love the nostalgic vibe.

For the last four years, I’ve been living in St. Pete, and it’s the best place to play music and make a living doing it! There are so many great musicians who inspire me, like Kaleigh Baker and Alex Harris. I’m also a visual artist specializing in cartoons and surreal drawings. Our art community is deeply layered. This place is overflowing with talent!
