SoMa (South of Market) offers much to explore, from museums and nightlife to some of the city’s best dining.
SEE & DO
Revel in history and art at institutions like the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), Museum of the African Diaspora and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, with the lush Yerba Buena Gardens just around the corner. Visiting during baseball season? Cheer on the eight-time World Series Champion San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. Explore an aerial oasis at Salesforce Park, a 5.4-acre green space that sits 70 feet above the city. This neighborhood is also home to some of the city’s hottest nightclubs, from the multilevel experience at 1015 Folsom to high-energy dance parties at Monarch and Cat Club.
EAT & DRINK
If you’re a foodie, there’s hardly a better place to be than SoMa. Reserve a table in advance at Benu, a three-MICHELIN-starred Korean restaurant from beloved chef Corey Lee, or savor the seasonal menu and craft cocktails at Prospect. Alexander’s Steakhouse, Barcha and Press Club are a few other excellent restaurants to put on your list.
WHERE TO STAY
Lounge in luxury at the W San Francisco, steps from the neighborhood’s museums.
