RAILWAY ADVENTURES
Edgemont, a small town on the southern edge of the Black Hills, is shaped by 1890 railroad history and is a true gem of the region.
Explore the history of Edgemont at the Trails, Trains, & Pioneer Museum, which is found at mile zero of the George S. Mickelson Trail. The museum has an extensive collection on the Burlington Railroad. Visit Teddy Roosevelt City Park, where the former president once spoke at the gazebo in the park.
The only covered bridge in the Northern Plains is also located at the city park. A city pool, golf course, and trap club add to your adventures. In the summer, watch live theatre performances in a converted sale barn and join in on rodeos and community festivals showcasing the local spirit. Edgemont is also rich in hunting, fishing, biking, and horseback riding.
A variety of lodging is available to extend your stay, and you can relax at the local taphouse and enjoy dinner at a South Dakota steakhouse.
