NORTHWEST

GERING BAKERY, Gering • Sweet rolls, cookies, pies, cakes — find all that and more scratch-made baked goods and pastries at Gering Bakery, a local favorite since 1950.
BEAN BROKER COFFEE HOUSE AND PUB, Chadron • Whether it’s coffee, cocktails or brews, this historical bank landmark has the concoction for you. Add a breakfast sandwich with your coffee or pair small-plate apps with a cocktail.

THE 411 RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE, Norfolk • With dozens of options, from the Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich to the buffalo meatloaf, this gastropub menu features classic favorites with creative twists.
DAM FISH SHACK, Crofton • If you’re a fan of fried fish baskets, this spot is a must. Choose from catfish, walleye, gator, frog legs and more. Baskets come with fries, coleslaw, Texas toast and a drink.
METRO
YOSHITOMO, Omaha • It’s hard to beat this James Beard-recognized sushi bar in Omaha, which “The Washington Post” recently called “one of America’s best sushi restaurants.”
