Meandering through wooded hillsides for 27 miles, Huntingdon County’s Raystown Lake places no limitations on the horsepower or size of boats zipping through its waters. Swing by the visitor center in Hesston for info, exhibits, and extraordinary views before choosing among the lake’s seven public boat launches.
Think big at the vast Pymatuning State Park, where the massive Pymatuning Reservoir enables warmwater fishers to hook walleye, muskellunge, carp, perch, bass, and other prized catches. Ice skating is permitted on Canoe Lake along with two ponds — which typically freeze earlier — along the Beaver Trail on the park’s east side.
