WELCOME, YOU WANDERFUL PEOPLE!

SPRING

Spring brings flowers and festivals. Be sure to bring a light jacket as it might be a little chilly out.

SUMMER

Grab your bathing suit — summer is the perfect season to explore Nebraska’s numerous lakes and rivers.

FALL

Visit a pumpkin patch for hayrack rides, harvest treats and farm games, and remember to pack layers.

WINTER

Ice fishing, cross-country skiing, winter tanking — don’t let the cold stop you. Bundle up and start adventuring.

DID YOU KNOW?

Nebraska has a long, rich history, so you know we have some pretty interesting facts. Here are a couple we betcha didn’t know about:

Visit the Birthplace of Arbor Day

Arbor Day was founded right here in Nebraska City in 1872 by J. Sterling Morton. Today, you can tour his family home at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park & Mansion.

Go on a Safari through the Lied Jungle

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium features the nation’s largest indoor rainforest. Venture through this immersive exhibit to see gibbons, pygmy hippos, macaws and more.

Explore like the EXPLORERS EXPLORED

Travelers have always wandered Nebraska’s incredible landscapes, from Native Americans to fur trappers to pioneers to modern travelers just like you. Something about the heartland just makes folks want to roam. In fact, six national historic trails run through the Cornhusker State. I guess you could say exploring these parts is somewhat of a national pastime. That nomadic sense of curiosity will lead you to all sorts of unique treasures and adventures in Nebraska.
