Major Broadway productions brought to town by BroadwaySF are featured on the stages of the Golden Gate and Orpheum theaters. Directly across from UN Plaza is the American Conservatory Theater’s dynamic and intimate Strand Theater. A block away, the International Art Museum of America houses an eclectic collection of both classical and modern art. The Warfield hosts a number of concerts and performances. On the neighborhood’s north edge, the Tenderloin is home to GLIDE Memorial Church, experimental theater companies and jazz and blues clubs.

EAT & DRINK
Mint Plaza is the hub of dining in Mid-Market. Clink glasses at 54 Mint, a cucina serving Roman specialties for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Burma Love is a perfect entrée to Burmese cuisine, while Tu Lan dishes out authentic Vietnamese staples. Montesacro Pinseria makes a good pre- or post-theater meal.
WHERE TO STAY
Trendy boutique hotels are the flavor here. The LINE is known for its wellness programming, stellar views and rooftop bar, Rise Over Run. The flatiron-style San Francisco Proper offers Kelly Wearstler-designed rooms and another superb rooftop bar, Charmaine’s.
