There’s no place like home — especially when you can bring your “home” with you. Head to Arizona in your recreational vehicle and take your pick from scenic sites amid nature to luxurious RV resorts.

Lost Dutchman State Park,
Apache Junction AZ STATE PARKS

Arizona’s state parks are the perfect place to start. Stay just steps from an underground wonderland of stalactites, brushite moonmilk, birds nest needle quartz formations and Arizona’s tallest column at Kartchner Caverns State Park in Benson. The campground offers RV back-in and pull-through sites with electric hook-ups and water. If you want to enjoy spectacular scenery above ground, stay at Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction. Take in views of the Superstition Mountains, native flora such as prickly pear and ocotillo, and possibly even wildlife such as roadrunners and Gila monsters (enjoy from a distance!). The campground has no size restrictions on RVs and offers electric hook-ups and water.

In the heart of the Sonoran Desert, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument features quirky cactuses, 28 miles of hiking trails and incredible stargazing. Plan for a close-to-nature experience when you park your small RV at a basic, nonelectric site in the Twin Peaks Campground in Lukeville. No-fuss comfort amenities like flush toilets, picnic tables, drinking water and a dump station are available.

Not quite ready to rough it? Pick an upscale RV resort with spacious sites, full hook-ups and an impressive lineup of plush perks. Verde Ranch RV Resort in Camp Verde offers an amenity-packed experience with bocce ball and pickleball courts, a fitness center, heated pool, splash pad and hot tubs — as well as a schedule of planned activities for guests, from adults-only paint-and-sip experiences and wine tastings to kids’ crafts and after-school activities. For a mountain basecamp in Flagstaff, Village Camp Outdoor Resort will keep you comfortable with a seasonal pool (with mountain views, of course), hot tubs and a luxury clubhouse offering a bar, bistro and general store. In Lake Havasu City, stay close to all the beach and boating action of the Colorado River while enjoying community amenities at Havasu RV Resort. Pass the time enjoying the outdoor heated pools, walking paths, bocce courts and 9-hole chip and putt golf course.
