Throughout the year, Central Avenue in St. Pete buzzes with energy from dawn to dusk, attracting art lovers, foodies, musicians and shoppers to its vibrant corridor. This street is particularly celebrated for its numerous LGBTQ+-owned businesses and becomes the focal point for St. Pete Pride, Florida's largest Pride festival, every June.
Central Avenue offers something for every visitor, particularly those seeking LGBTQ+-friendly experiences. The Grand Central District, known as the city’s gayborhood, is bustling with new venues opening regularly.
Begin your night at the Lucky Star Lounge, the oldest gay bar in town. Nearby, The Garage on Central provides a laid-back spot for karaoke. A short walk away, the Salty Nun offers great food and live performances by local singers, including notable lesbian musicians.
Traveling with a pet? Mutts & Martinis and The Dog Bar welcome both people and dogs. Or leave Fido at home and enjoy themed nights at COCKtail St. Pete and The Wet Spot Pool Bar. Experience a burlesque show at The Saint Speakeasy or travel a block north to watch a magic show at the Zubrick Magic Theatre. Wrap up your evening dancing at Enigma Bar & Lounge, known for its lively dance floor and drag shows.

Downtown Clearwater’s Pro Shop Pub—“the oldest gay bar in Tampa Bay”—is a low-key favorite due to its warm atmosphere and laid-back regulars. Venture north to Dunedin to the lesbian-owned The Honu Restaurant and Tiki Bar and then keep the vibes soaring at Blur Nightclub. The club has a fully loaded bar, regular live DJ nights, and drag shows every Friday. And if you happen to be in town on the first Tuesday of the month, don’t miss Drag Queen Bingo.
