PRALINE BEIGNETS - LORETTA’S Ooey-gooey caramel and pecans hide inside a fluffy square of fried dough for the ultimate sweet New Orleans treat at Loretta’s. If you’re a beignet fanatic, mark your calendars for Beignet Fest, held every September in New Orleans. 2. FRIED SHRIMP PO-BOY - PARKWAY Fresh, crispy, and piled high on a loaf of French bread, the shrimp po-boy at Parkway Bakery & Tavern is a must for anyone’s first visit to New Orleans. 3. SEAFOOD GUMBO CAFÉ SBISA Established in 1899, Café Sbisa is one of the oldest restaurants in the French Quarter, and this dish has stood the test of time. Come try it, then save the date for Tremé Creole Gumbo Fest, returning in the spring of 2024. 4. CHARBROILED OYSTERS - DRAGO’S Home of the original charbroiled oyster, Drago’s is the place to go for this buttery, garlicky dish. 5. STUFFED SHRIMP DOOKY CHASE’S RESTAURANT The stuffed shrimp at Dooky Chase’s are filled with crab dressing, then battered and fried – almost like a corn dog – but with a shrimp-tail handle perfect for dunking in tartar sauce. 6. FRIED CHICKEN - MORROW'S Fried chicken isn’t hard to find in New Orleans, but Morrow’s stands above the rest. Tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, enjoy a choice of white or dark meat served with two sides. 7. BOILED CRAWFISH - CLESI’S OR BOIL SEAFOOD HOUSE From February to May, boiled crawfish is in abundance in a variety of flavors throughout New Orleans. BOUDIN BOY - AYU BAKEHOUSE Ayu Bakehouse takes a Louisiana staple (boudin) and transforms it into a hot pocket of sorts with what seems like a billion thin layers of perfect, flaky laminate pastry stuffed to the brim with boudin and egg. 9. ALLIGATOR CHEESECAKE JACQUES-IMO'S The shrimp-and-alligator-sausage cheesecake has been a staple at Jacques-Imo’s since 1996 and is sure to delight adventurous eaters. 10. COLLARD GREEN MELT TURKEY AND THE WOLF Slow-cooked collards, Swiss cheese, pickled cherry pepper dressing, and coleslaw on rye bread, served hot. Say no more! 11. CRAWFISH MAC ‘N’ CHEESE MISS LINDA, THE YAKAMEIN LADY Miss Linda may be known for her yakamein (a savory beef noodle soup) but her crawfish mac ‘n’ cheese is a hit as well. It's bread pudding, but made with Krispy Kreme® donuts baked and finished with a delicious sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 14. THE SUPERDOME HEARD DAT KITCHEN At Heard Dat Kitchen, go for a signature dish like the Superdome: blackened fish topped with mashed potatoes and lobster cream sauce. 15. CURRIED GOAT - COMPÈRE LAPIN Chef Nina Compton’s Caribbean roots are on display in Compère Lapin’s curried goat, served with sweet potato gnocchi. 16. BLUE CRAB HUMMUS - SABA This modern Israeli restaurant tells a story with each dish, and the blue crab hummus stands out. Blending his Middle Eastern heritage with the seafood of Louisiana, Chef Alon Shaya perfects a unique take on a simple dish. 17. CRISPY CHICKEN WINGS - MOPHO Chef Mike Gulotta uses fish sauce, ginger, Thai chiles, lemongrass, and other bold and flavorful ingredients to create the ultimate chicken wing. DOUBLES BOX - QUEEN TRINI LISA From the streets of Trinidad and Tobago, Queen Trini Lisa’s curry chickpea-stuffed flatbreads with chutney are a vegan delight. 19. MISO RAMEN - UNION RAMEN Plant-based broth, confit oyster mushrooms, black garlic oil, and a bounty of fresh veggies bring plenty of flavor to this vegan dish. 20. PROVOLA - GIANNA This simple Italian dish is made with just three items: spicy sausage, melty provolone, and oregano, served in an escargot plate. We call 'em little pockets of cheesy, sausage-y goodness! 21. SHRIMP DUMPLINGS - MISS SHIRLEY’S Miss Shirley’s is a neighborhood Chinese restaurant that brings classic dim-sum dishes to life, like shrimp dumplings. CULINARY EXPERIENCES 22.
