CENTRAL AVENUE
Any time of day, St. Pete’s Central Avenue hums with activity and boasts a growing number of LGBTQ+-owned businesses and visitors, especially in June during St. Pete Pride, Florida’s largest pride festival. While Central Avenue is welcoming to all who shop, dine and explore, the Grand Central District (roughly between 16th and 31st Street) is known as the "gayborhood" of the city. Here you will find several LGBTQ+-owned bars and businesses with new ones “coming out” weekly and Metro's LGBTQ Welcome Center.
Start your queer night out at Lucky Star Lounge, the oldest gay watering hole in the region. Across the street, test your karaoke skills at The Garage on Central while enjoying a laid-back experience. Travel two blocks down the road to the Salty Nun for delicious food and nightly entertainment with local ladies. Next door at Mixers at Old Key West Bar & Grill, attend a Sunday drag brunch or embibe with hump day BOGO drinks and a burger.
If you have Fido in tow, pop over to The Dog Bar where the vibe is welcoming and inclusive for people and pups of all breeds. Leave Fido at home to party with the pups while you head to Cocktail St. Pete, where theme nights make for some of the hottest parties in the city. Then cool off at their new Wet Spot Pool Bar. Feed your hunger at Zoie’s, a Southern comfort food restaurant and entertainment venue branded as a “place for everyone.” And grab a tasty treat at Daddies Donuts and Delites. Then wrap up your night at Enigma Bar & Lounge for dancing, drag and drinks.

OUTLIER AREAS
St. Pete/Clearwater’s LGBTQ+ community expands well beyond Central Avenue. Nearby inclusive accommodations include the GayStPete House, the Hollander Hotel and the Avalon. On Fifth Avenue North, you’ll find Page Boy, an LGBTQ+-owned vintage market apothecary and hair studio. Freshen up your look while treasure hunting for unique gifts, body care products and curated art.
Just outside of St. Pete you’ll find Gulfport, an artsy town that draws a large number of LGBTQ+ residents and tourists. Enjoy vegan bites at Golden Dinosaurs where rainbow and transgender flags fly proudly. Attend a Sunday drag brunch at the Neptune Grill or enjoy comfort food at the lesbian-owned Stella’s. Find souvenirs at Stella’s Sundries, Paw Paw’s and Qi Crystal Energy, all LGBTQ+-owned.
If you’re staying closer to Clearwater, venture into the adorable town of Dunedin and grab a bite at The Honu Restaurant and Tiki Bar. It’s lesbian-owned and a local favorite. Then dance the night away at the town’s only gay bar, Blur Nightclub.
Travel further south to Largo for a fun night with the ladies at The Lady’s Room, the only official lesbian bar in Florida.
