What is a must-try menu item?
Definitely my maple barbecue ribs. We do our own in-house dry rub and the maple syrup barbecue glaze is our own recipe.
What local attraction should travelers visit?
Strasburg Railroad. It’s a place where you can really see the history of Lancaster.

Royal Boucherie, Philadelphia
As the lead bartender at this neighborhood brasserie in Philadelphia’s Old City, Eden Beschen mixes up expertly crafted cocktails. Pair one with the sublime French dishes from the kitchen.
What’s a fun fact about the Royal Boucherie?
We are located in a historic building that dates to the 1700s. Some of our wood floors are original and made from heart of oak pine, which is now extinct.
What drink should people try when they visit?
The Parisian Rose! I’m a sucker for a good whiskey sour, and this one is particularly beautiful because we infuse the bourbon with hibiscus flower.
Favorite local attraction to bring visitors from out of town?
I love the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I like to walk up the parkway, around Logan Square and up to the museum. But my favorite thing is to bring people to watch the sunset behind the art museum. The view over the Schuylkill River, the Waterworks and Boathouse Row is absolutely stunning.

Our Sugar and Spice Latte. It’s a delicious blend of spices, honey syrup, caramel syrup (made from a bakery called Cake & Cup in Lititz) and a dash of cinnamon on top.
Great place in Harrisburg to bring kids?
City Island has been a wonderful location to take my kids. It’s a beautiful place to see the city, get ice cream, and maybe play some mini golf.
Best place for a fancy dinner?
Recently The Millworks has become one of my favorite places to meet for dinner with friends and family.

One of my favorite places to see a show is the Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University. Also, Moravian University has an amazing music program.
Favorite outdoor activity?
Walking along the Lehigh Canal! Just a short distance from the hotel, this scenic trail is a nice flat path with views of the Lehigh River, SteelStacks, and more.
