Head east into Minnesota’s Bluff Country to explore the 19-mile section of the Root River State Trail from Lanesboro to Rushford. This flat, paved section of the trail provides dramatic views of the region’s soaring limestone bluffs and abundant wildlife. Just outside of Duluth, a 14-mile paved segment of the Willard Munger State Trail cuts a path through the area’s spectacular hardwood-pine forest, with picturesque vistas of Lake Superior and the St. Louis River where the trees clear. SENSORY-FRIENDLY ATTRACTIONS You may find it surprising that two of Minnesota’s busiest and most stimulating places, Mall of America and its indoor theme park, Nickelodeon Universe, are Certified Autism Centers.
