WHAT TO SEE & DO The Mission District is one of San Francisco’s most of-the-moment neighborhoods, packed with trend-setting boutiques, restaurants and more. But its namesake is one of the city’s oldest icons, the 18th century Mission Dolores. • Mission St. is the neighborhood’s main drag and home to a variety of restaurants and shops. Valencia St. is ground zero for cafés, bars and clothing and accessory shops. • Be sure to visit Mission Dolores, built in 1776. For recent history, check out the Mission’s celebrated outdoor murals in places like Balmy Alley or on the façade of the Women’s Building. Dolores Park is a popular green space that offers a perfect picnic location, people-watching and spectacular skyline views. • No visit would be complete without a Mission-style burrito.
