Thrill seekers of all sorts have endless options for heart-pounding action when they visit Las Vegas. Take your pick of unforgettable experiences, whether by land or by air.
At the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Richard Petty Driving Experience puts aspiring speed demons in a NASCAR race car for some exciting laps around the track, while Dream Racing puts you behind the wheel of some of the world’s fastest dream cars, from Lamborghinis to Ferraris. On the grounds of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Exotics Racing lets you put the pedal to the metal in a super car of your choice around the 1.2-mile practice track featuring hairpin turns, 90-degree corners and banked curves.
You can skip the ground altogether at Sky Combat Ace. It’s where you’ll find your inner “Top Gun” flying a real combat plane with a trained instructor pilot. If you’d rather let someone else drive (or fly, as it were), hop in a helicopter with Sundance Helicopters, and soar over the Strip for spectacular nighttime views of the glittering lights, the dazzling beam of the Luxor and the iconic light and water show by Fountains of Bellagio.
For even more sky-high fun, the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower has four high-altitude rides, including the SkyJump bungee experience that gives you a controlled freefall from the 108th floor, the terrifying tower drop called the Big Shot!, the spinning Insanity, and the right-to-the-edge ride, X-Scream.
Closer to the ground but still full of quick lifts, both the VooDoo ZipLine at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and SlotZilla at Fremont Street Experience offer thrilling zip line experiences that give you a rush as you zoom over the heads of tourists. The latest zip line to arrive on the scene is The LINQ Promenade’s Fly LINQ—the only zip line on the Las Vegas Strip—where 10 side-by-side ziplines are capable of launching all riders at once, ideal for groups of friends looking for that perfect dare.
