From staged shootouts on a dusty Main Street to playful train robberies near the Grand Canyon, the Old West comes to life in Arizona. Be a part of it on your next trip. In Tombstone, actors portraying Wyatt Earp, his brothers Virgil and Morgan, Doc Holiday, the McLaurys and Clantons recreate the infamous shootout steps away from the O.K. Corral where it took place. After the show, step back in time at The Epitaph newspaper, historic Crystal Palace Saloon and legendary Bird Cage Theater. Every weekend from November through April, the Goldfield Gunfighters draw their weapons on the dusty streets of Goldfield Ghost Town. Watch for the trouble to begin every hour, on the hour, from noon to 4 p.m. Between shows, test your aim in the shooting gallery, ride the narrow-gauge railroad, tour the mine or pan for gold. The family-friendly Pistoleros Wild West Show at Trail Dust Town has just as many laughs as gunfire and explosions. Shows start at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Western-themed shopping and dining destination in Tucson. Blazin’ M Ranch in Cottonwood combines dinner and a show. Evenings start with bull riding, tractor pulls and axe throwing. At 6:30 p.m., grab a seat in the dining hall for a chuckwagon dinner of chicken and ribs, baked potatoes, beans and biscuits. Following the meal, the Blazin’ M Ramblers sing favorites from country legends like Hank Williams and Dolly Parton. The Grand Canyon Railway is more than a train ride to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Mornings begin at the depot in Williams with a showdown between the Cataract Creek Gang and the Marshall, but it doesn’t end there. The gang has been known to board the train and “rob” passengers on the way back to the depot. Musicians and storytellers also entertain on the trip.
