Welcome to Arizona!

As a lifelong Arizonan, I’ve had the privilege of visiting many parts of our spectacular state, experiencing its remarkable diversity and watching it grow.

My career in public service has provided countless opportunities to connect with many amazing Arizonans and truly understand the common values, hopes and dreams we all share, regardless of which part of the state we call home.

The vast cultural and geographical diversity throughout Arizona binds visitors and citizens alike together in our love for our state. And it shows in the hospitality we provide.

Whether I’m hiking my favorite trails in the Verde Valley, kayaking the lakes of our Northern Arizona high country or enjoying the country’s best Mexican food in Southern Arizona, our state’s majestic beauty constantly shines through and Arizonans always provide a warm welcome.

Thank you for choosing our state as your vacation destination! I’m excited for you to explore the Arizona we all get to experience every single day.

Enjoy your visit!

Hello!

Welcome to Arizona! On behalf of our vibrant tourism and hospitality industry, we are thrilled to have you here. Countless experiences await, from the stunning landscapes of Sedona’s red rocks to the world-class resorts in Phoenix and Scottsdale, and the charming cities and towns of Prescott and Flagstaff to the rich cultural heritage of Tucson. We can’t wait to share these incredible destinations with you!

This Official State Travel Guide is the perfect starting point to spark your curiosity and guide you on your adventures.

For lovers of natural history, explore the Ancestral Lands of Tribal Nations in Arizona, starting on page 16. This insider’s guide introduces you to the 22 tribal communities that make their homes in diverse settings ranging from the saguaroclad desert to the river-carved depths of the Grand Canyon. These cultures continue to thrive today, which makes now an exciting time to hire an American Indian guide to experience these spectacular places.

Culinary creativity comes naturally to Arizona chefs, bakers and foodmakers. Check out the James Beard Foundation Picks on page 36 which takes foodies on a tour through some of the state’s award-winning spots, inviting you to taste your way through the top talent. Top Tours for Exploring Wine Country on the next page also makes for a great follow-up!

For those who love the boundless outdoor recreation opportunities offered here, Winter Wonders on page 59 will help you choose from Northern Arizona’s best ski and snowboarding areas, perfect for your next snow adventures!

No matter where your adventures lead you, we hope you find amazing things and have a fantastic time here. Enjoy your exploration!
