Welcome to Wyoming! You have decided to embark on a trip here, and my family and I are delighted that you’ve chosen the Cowboy State. We know what’s in store as you travel the state — beautiful landscapes, friendly people and a lifetime of memories. We invite visitors and residents alike to experience all the adventure that Wyoming has to offer. As you travel, this journal will be a great resource and will guide you along the way. The list of things to do and see in the state is seemingly endless. From visiting our national and state parks to attending a rodeo in many towns around the state, there really is something for every member of the family. As you travel our scenic roads, you’ll find yourself asking why people choose to live, work or play in the state. Once you experience what the state has to offer, you’ll answer, “That’s WY.” On August 21, 2017, Wyoming will be a prime location to view a rare astronomical event, a total solar eclipse. The centerline of the eclipse will traverse the entire central part of the state and directly over many Wyoming towns. While the eclipse will prove to be a once-in-alifetime event for many, Wyoming’s open spaces and clear skies will have you looking to the heavens throughout your trip.
