This year is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, so I invite you to take in the magnificence of Pennsylvania’s outdoors in a variety of ways. Kayak down the Susquehanna River or whitewater raft the Youghiogheny River. Relax on a boat on Lake Erie, and then bicycle along the coast and through the vineyards. Take in our woodlands on an ATV or snowmobile. Or, take a scenic drive. I consider Route 6 across Pennsylvania’s northern tier to offer some of the most beautiful views on earth, especially as fall foliage peaks in vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds. Pennsylvania takes pride in its outdoors. We’re home to more than 25,000 species of plants and animals and more than 17 million acres of forest. And, we’re working to conserve our unique wilderness for decades to come.
