• DC is packed with farmers’ markets: 20+ throughout the year, including six open year-round. You can find one almost every day of the week and all across the District, with produce, meats and treats to delight. For local greens and welcoming neighborhood vibes, check out a market near you on your next visit at washington.org/farmers.
• DC was the first U.S. city to launch a bike-share system. Capital Bikeshare offers more than 6,000 bikes at over 700 stations across the city. A green, affordable and, best of all, fun way to navigate the city. Check out more sustainability tips and facts at washington.org/sustainability.
• Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is investing in a zero-emission fleet to cut air and carbon pollution. WMATA will purchase 100% zero-emission buses (ZEB) by 2027 to build a 100% ZEB fleet by 2042. Clean air for the nation's capital is a priority.
