ST. ALBANS IS ONE of the best-kept secrets in West Virginia. It’s a town rich in history, culture, dining and unique shopping, as well as great people who work and live there.

Two of its borders are the Kanawha River and Coal River, making it a river town with great opportunities for recreation, boating and outdoor fun. St. Albans is the “Flatwater Kayaking Capital of West Virginia,” one of the fastest-growing outdoor activities in America.

Tour de Coal

The Alban Arts Center is known for some of the finest on-stage productions in the state and it’s just one of many arts venues around town. The old C&O Train Depot, built in 1906 to replace the original depot built in 1871, is home to a train museum – one of many historical sites.

Enjoy a great meal at Angela’s on the River, housed in the historic Chilton House, Shucker’s Seafood or The Olde Main Café, then take in a play at the Alban, tour St. Albans, kayak or do a little shopping. You’ll soon find out how great St. Albans is and what all it has to offer.
