FROM THE DIAMOND TO THE DOCKS

Calling all athletes and sports fans—whether you’re here to compete, train or cheer, our sports scene scores when it comes to action-packed experiences in an endless-summer locale.

CoolToday Park

Big Leagues

Sarasota County is the home of Spring Training baseball for MLB’s Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves. Book your tickets to watch the Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium near Downtown Sarasota. Or venture to Wellen Park, where the Braves batter up at state-of-the-art CoolToday Park. If you prefer netted sports, get a front-row seat to watch our USL League One professional soccer team, Sarasota Paradise, at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. There are also plenty of public fields and facilities for you to lace up and get in a game.

Backyard Athletics

Secure a paddle and join The Pickleball Club, a new 12-court facility in Lakewood Ranch. Home to world-class regattas and training facilities, Nathan Benderson Park offers a premier rowing experience on its 400-acre lake—welcoming everyone from Olympic hopefuls to first-time rowers. One of Sarasota’s oldest sports clubs, the Sarasota Lawn Bowling Club, offers open bowling and croquet, tournaments and fun events. Play a round at Bobby Jones Golf Course—the original 18-hole Donald Ross Golf Course was recently renovated along with a driving range and 9-hole short course. Whether you’re eager to swim freestyle laps at Selby Aquatic Center or sharpen your serve at Payne Park Tennis Center, Sarasota offers year-round opportunities to stay active under the shining sun.
