Run a 10K, half- or full marathon (or cheer for those who do) the first weekend of December during the largest single-day fundraiser for Memphis-based St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Shelby Farms Park offers horseback riding, ziplining, fishing and more, plus access to the bike-friendly Shelby Farms Greenline. The Greenline now connects to the 26-mile Wolf River Greenway and also leads to Midtown’s historic Overton Park. In Millington, enjoy hilly hikes, fishing and birdwatching at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park.

Memphis' historic fairgrounds are being reenergized as Liberty Park, featuring Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium and the Memphis Sports & Events Center, with space for sporting events and VIP suites. Nearby, play the new Leftwich Tennis Center, a game-changer for the region.

SOUTHERN HERITAGE CLASSIC
Every September, the Southern Heritage Classic brings one of the biggest HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) rivalries to Memphis, when the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Tennessee State University compete at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. In addition to the game, fans enjoy battles of the bands, concerts, tailgating and a parade.
