One of the best ways to explore the region’s vast and rugged landscape is behind the wheel of an off-highway vehicle (OHV). The Black Hills National Forest boasts one of the largest motorized trail systems in a national forest open to vehicles no more than 62 inches wide.
It consists of over 3,800 miles of open roads—more than 700 miles are designated trails for all types of OHVs.
