Myrtle Beach

REGION

When you’re ready for action, South Carolina’s Grand Strand is the place to be. Soaring resorts, family-friendly attractions and trendy restaurants are just steps from more than 60 miles of beaches. For a slower pace and natural beauty, retreat to a relaxed barrier island in the Hammock Coast area; or, for timeless music and moves, head to North Myrtle Beach to the birthplace of the state dance, the “Carolina Shag.”

LIVE MUSIC AL FRESCO

With its beautiful weather, no wonder outdoor concerts are the event du jour.

Once a month from June through September, stroll down to Francis Marion Park in Georgetown Historic District for its Music in the Park series.

Friday nights in May, it’s Groovin’ on the Green in downtown Conway. Grab dinner from a local restaurant and settle onto a blanket from home or get a to-go drink and peruse the car show.

On Thursdays June through September, live bands perform during Music on Main in North Myrtle Beach.

Country newcomers like Cole Swindell come straight from Nashville to The Landing at the Boathouse in Myrtle Beach to perform for Free Show Friday, a local tradition for more than a decade.

The Nashville-to-Myrtle Beach pipeline continues at Tin Roof in Myrtle Beach, where the Nashville Hits the Roof series features rising stars in country music. Check their events calendar for the latest updates.

Barefoot Landing, also in North Myrtle Beach, welcomes country, pop, rock and other live music to its Dockside Village Stage every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as part of SummerFest.

And year-round, Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is home to all manner of live music, plus relaxing waterfront views.
