Dances With Wolves
(1990)
Kevin Costner’s beloved epic follows an Army officer who befriends a Lakota tribe while stationed at a remote Civil War fort. Key scenes were filmed around Fort Pierre, Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon.
North by Northwest
(1959)
This Alfred Hitchcock classic features a dramatic chase across the granite faces of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, with parts filmed on location and much of the action recreated on Hollywood soundstages.

Into the Wild
(2007)
The true story of a young man who abandons his possessions to travel the country, “Into the Wild” includes a scene of the film’s main character running with mustangs at Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary in Hot Springs.
