Get out and explore this four-season paradise for yourself. Take in the incredible view from Cove Overlook and, near Oakland, explore thousands of acres of state parks. Deep Creek Lake State Park offers water recreation, winter sports trails, and the kid-friendly Discovery Center. And thrill-seekers have to hit Adventure Sports Center International, the world’s only mountaintop white-water course. In Swallow Falls State Park, find Muddy Creek Falls. Cascading 53 bewitching feet to the rocks below, it’s the tallest free-falling waterfall in the state. Or pass through Frostburg on your way to Cumberland Narrows, a 1,000-foot gorge. It’s gorge-ous.
