Covet hundreds of classic pieces—from Eames chairs to tulip tables—at Discount Mid Century Modern in Wyndmoor. The suitcase-friendly goodies at the Fallingwater Museum store in Mill Run include quirky office supplies, puzzles and prints, and items that add a bit of midcentury beauty to everyday living. HOMES TO TOUR Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Hagan family, Kentuck Knob in Dunbar is one of the last homes to be completed by Wright. A one-level Usonian home built with sandstone and red cypress, the structure seamlessly integrates into the surrounding landscape. Originally the location of summer homes for the Balter and Blum families, Polymath Park in Acme has evolved to include two relocated Wright homes: the Donald C. Duncan House and R. W. Lindholm Residence. The Balter and Blum homes were built onsite in the early ‘60s and were designed by Wright’s apprentice Peter Berndtson. Decades later, after a new owner successfully restored the original properties and added a gourmet restaurant, the 125-acre property among the Allegheny Mountains became the destination for Wright’s relocated Lindholm “Mäntylä” house, built in Cloquet, Minnesota, and Wright’s Duncan house, formerly in Lisle, Illinois.
