Corner 103 was founded by Lloyd Davis in 2015. Originally from New York City, Lloyd spent more than 30 years in the banking and finance industry. He left the financial world in 2008 to take control of Viansa Winery. At that time Viansa was struggling and Lloyd quickly returned it to profitability. In opening Lloyd wanted to create a unique environment where his guests would feel comfortable Corner 103, L aspects of wine in a friendly, non-intimidating, and fun way; continue his track record of learning all asp producing approachable, award winning wines; and demonstrate the proper way to pair wine with food. Describe your perfect Fall Day in Sonoma County. My perfect fall day begins with a delicious breakfast watching the sun rise over the vineyard. This is followed by vineyard visits and making grape pick decisions. Then spending the afternoon in my tasting room greeting guests, pouring wine and helping my guests. I like to end my day with a glass off wine and a fantastic meal at one of the many outstanding local restaurants. What hidden gem should people not miss when visiting Sonoma County? Sonoma has some of the best parks, hiking trails and coast lines that I have experienced. I like Sugarloaf and Annadel State Parks. As for the coast, I like Bodega Head. What is your faou have for travelers visiting wineries in Sonoma County? I tell people not to overdo it. I suggest 3 wineries per day. One late morning. Then have an amazing lunch. Then two in the afternoon. I also tell them to bring plenty of water and snacks! What is it that makes Sonoma County Wine Country so unique? The people who work and live here, the outstanding wines that we produce and the amazing landscapes make Sonoma Wine Country the best place to visit in the world! What Corner 103 wine would you recommend to someone who is new to wine and might be intimidated by it? I would suggest they try my 2019 Chardonnay which is has a nice balance of creamy/butter flavors and bright acidy. People stay away from Chardonnay because they dislike one of those flavors. Because I balance them, most people who don’t drink Chardonnay enjoy mine. What is your favorite Made-in-Sonoma-County food item to pair with a Corner 103 wine? I love Vella Cheese. I love their Special Select Dry Jack with my Chardonnay. Their Daisy Cheddar with my Pinot Noir. Their Mezzo Secco with my Malbec and their Oro Secco with my Cab.
