DRAMATIC OVERLOOKS The Tidioute Overlook offers scenic views of the Allegheny River and the 220-year-old town of Tidioute, named for the Allegheny River with the Iroquoian word meaning “protrusion of land,” which refers to the sharp riverbend. From the parking lot, the path to the left leads to views of town, while the path to the right leads to views of the Allegheny River Valley. In Mt. Jewett, the Kinzua Skywalk offers unparalleled views of Kinzua Bridge State Park from one of the highest and longest viaducts. Marvel at the finest of fall’s colors and the bridge’s structure from the glass-bottomed observation deck. At World’s End State Park in Forksville, dramatic views are expected, especially along the Canyon Vista Trail’s 4-mile loop, with rolling hills and rock formations. Just north of Harrisburg on the Appalachian Trail, take a 1.6-mile out-and-back moderate hike to Hawk Rock near Duncannon for an unforgettable view.
